A bushing is machined and installed into the bolt face, then the firing pin hole is recut to a smaller diameter. Firing pin's size and geometry are modified to fit accordingly. In addition, the firing pin cavity in the bolt is honed. These modifications allow for smoother operation and more consistent ignition. In addition, this prevents primer cratering when pressures start to get on the high side.
